An investment in gold is somewhat tricky for those investors whose reference currency is the Euro, because the yellow metal is traded in USD. As it happens, gold and the US dollar are negatively correlated. In other words, when one rises, the other falls.  So the profit of an investor generated by price gains on gold is (partially) lost on the exchange rate. (more…)
